Usability

For me, the first signs came when I was working as a software engineer on a major e-learning research project, and I had to make several decisions for structuring the application user interface. At some point along the way, I realised that my decisions were made purely on intuition, and I wondered whether I could somehow justify them in a more formal way. At the same time, I got to work with some people who had experience implementing text-to-speech and screen-reading systems, so I started to develop an interest in accessibility.

During the 2005/06 academic year, I completed the MSc course in Human Computer Interaction with Ergonomics at the University College London Interaction Centre. In my degree project I examined the usability of digital photography.
